The intern's responsibilities are assisting the Director in all phases of running a gallery, greeting the public, working on the artists' files, updating the gallery's mailing list, and researching contacts for the press, art consultants. Depending on the time of year, the intern may also be involved in assisting in the National Juried competition, which involves sending out the prospectus by email and mail, accepting entries, filing entries in, assisting the judge choosing the show, mailing back rejected entries, and advising winners about the show. This experience will give an intern exposure to the business of art including administrative work, coordinating exhibits, research, working with the Director and artists. The intern must be interested in art and art galleries and have knowledge of typing and computer skills.
