Fellowship to attend 7th Biennial Hamad bin Khalifa Symposium on Islamic Art

The Hamad bin Khalifa Travel Fellowship provides full financial support to up to 10 individuals who wish to attend the 7th Biennial Hamad bin Khalifa Symposium on Islamic Art, Islamic Art: Past, Present + Future, to be held November 2-4, 2017 at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia. Speakers include HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, the contemporary artists Lalla Essaydi, Shahzia Sikander and Hassan Hajjaj, and some of the leading curators, collectors and leaders in the field of contemporary Islamic art, including Linda Komaroff, Sultan Sooud al-Qassemi and Nada Shabout.
The travel fellowships cover the cost of travel, meals and lodging and special events. Applications are due online April 15, 2017. To apply, visit www.islamicartdoha.org.
