Open Call: Studio Residency Fall 2017 6-Month Rotation. Deadline: 6/20/2017 @ 11:59pm EST

Gallery Aferro is invested in uplifting artists to help them make their work, and encouraging an environment where artists can make large as large or complex as desired. This open call is to artists of any professional stage working in almost any media who would like to continue their creative practice in an engaged and energized studio residency in downtown Newark, NJ. Residents are offered private studios with 24 hour access. The residency is a 6 month rotation with the possibility for renewal requires a small monthly fee, weekly studio time requirements and submissions to www.aferrostudios.org. Subject Line: “Last Name, First Name – Residency”
(Example: Smith, Jane – Residency)

Only send submissions as attachments (i.e. .doc, .pdf, google drive files, .jpgs, .png, etc. Do not send us oversized files like .tiff, .psd, or word docs from Pages)

Every submissions/proposal must include:
1) CV/Resume
2) Artist Statement
3) Project Statement: Describe in detail the projects you would like to focus on during your residency and demonstrate the need for the space in relation to the work and community.
4) Work Samples: up to 10 examples of work to be shown with us (approx.1 mb images, clearly labeled youtube links, etc. Also include full information pertaining to each work sample including Artist’s name, work title, media, dimensions, edition, price, and/or any other relevant information)
5) $10 USD fee per proposal, paypal link below. You must also include in the proposal confirmation that you have paid this fee. A screen-grab of the paypal receipt is sufficient.
