Deadline of May 8th is quickly approaching to apply to the National Juried Competition and Exhibition "Plein Air Plus" at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences, New Jersey.

The Paint Out is being held from July 1st  until August 31st. Stewart White, artist and President of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters of America (MAPAPA) is the Juror. Thirty Five Artists will be selected for the Paint Out, Quick Draw and Plein Air Plus Exhibition.

To Artists and Educators who paint landcapes both outdoors or in their studios - this is a different kind of Plein Air Event!  Our Paint Out is over a two month period, allowing artists to visit and paint on Long Beach Island (LBI) New Jersey at any time between July 1 and August 31. Selected artists can choose the time of day, weather and multiple, varied locations and visit the Island many times as they wish. Larger studio paintings inspired by LBI sites and completed in studio are encouraged. LBI is a unique coastal area in New Jersey with great beauty, natural landscape and a charming seaside atmosphere. A "Quick Draw" event will be held on Friday August 4th.

"Island Life - Plein Air Plus" exhibition  featuring Plein Air works and studio paintings developed from Plein Air Plus studies will be on view from Sept 8th to Oct 27th in the LBIF Gallery. Numerous prizes will be awarded by the Juror at the reception on September 24th for both Classical "Plein Air" and "Plein Air Plus" paintings. Artists are not required to attend the reception.
