GUIDELINES 

Media

Only original works created by artists based in Virginia in the last 4 years, not previously shown at RMA, will be eligible. All media will be accepted.

Entry Requirements: Two-dimensional entries must be framed and ready for hanging with hook eyes and wire. Frames, mats, and glass or plexi-glass should be clean and presented in a professional manner. White or off-white mats are suggested. Neither saw-tooth hangers nor wet paint will be accepted. Works should not exceed 60" in any direction including frame, with a maximum weight of 50lbs. Accepted works must remain for the duration of the show. RMA reserves the right to refuse entry to works with unusual insallation requirements or to works otherwise judged unsuitable. No substitutions or extractions will be allowed once work is selected.

Submission: Artists may submit 1 digital image each for up to three individual works using this form. Digital images: Submit no more than 1 digital image for each artwork, for up to three pieces. Each image should be approximately 5" by 7" at 300 dpi jpg files (no more than 3 MB). Files should be labeled as: LastName_FirstName_#_TitleOfWork.JPG.

Application and Fees: Applications and fees must be received by Rawls Museum Arts by Sunday, July 22, 2017 at 5:00 pm. The non-refundable fee of $30 covers application and exhibition expenses.

Delivery and Pick Up of Work: Selected, hand-delivered artworks will be accepted at RMA on Friday and Saturday, August 11 & 12 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Shipped works must arrive at RMA nolater than Wednesday, August 9. Work will not be accepted after these dates and times. Shipped works must be in reusable containers and must be accompanied by return shipping fees. Identification labels must be affixed to the back of the work with tape or other removable method, and each piece should also have a permanent identification on the back with the artist’s name and title of the piece. Works selected should be picked up promptly between October 23 and November 11. Work not retrieved by 5:00 pm on November 11 will become the property of RMA.

Sales Commission: The sale price on your entries must include the 25% commission. Works may be Not for Sale, but RMA must have an estimated value on hand for insurance purposes.

Insurance: Artworks will be insured for teh sales price (less 25% commission) from the time fo delivery (August 13) until the end of the designated pick-up dates.

All participants will be notified via email by August 4. No phone calls please. Make sure to list your email address.
