FULL BLEED, the art & design journal, seeks essays for crisis-themed issue

Type: Calls For Papers [View all]
Posted by: Maryland Institute College of Art
Deadline: Mon, January 15th, 2018

Full Bleed, a print journal of art and design, seeks original essays on the theme of Crisis. In particular, we are interested in writing that critiques narratives and representations arising from contemporary crises, and assessments of artwork that addresses crises of the past, present, or future. Submissions of scholarship from art historians, critics, and theorists will be peer-reviewed. Please send previously unpublished essays along with a brief biography to fullbleedjournal@gmail.com by January 15. All contributors will receive a modest honorarium for their work.

Published annually by the Maryland Institute College of Art, Full Bleed is committed to cultivating aesthetic experience and progressive design while furthering understanding of contemporary conditions. We favor criticism that emanates personality, experiments with form, and casts an aesthetic spell of its own. We encourage contrarian argument on fundamental questions of value and ambitious critical essays on cultural phenomena that are of active concern to living artists and designers.
