Call for Artist: Workshops, Papers
Type: Residencies, Workshops, Exchanges [View all]
Posted by: Takoja Institute
Deadline: Wed, February 28th, 2018
This call for Artists is to participate in this year’s retreat at Takoja Institute in beautiful Questa, New Mexico, June 30th-July 3rd !
Takoja was founded by artist and healer Judith B. Sauceda 30 years ago, and was imagined, created, and operates today as a sustainable sanctuary for creatives, intellectuals, and spirituals to discover and learn more about their personal path and process in harmony with nature. Through creativity, sustainability, and respect for all traditions, Takoja is a sanctuary where all individuals are welcome to explore their path of personal, spiritual, and social growth.
This year’s Takoja Retreat theme employs healing arts to build empathy, vitality, and resilience in the body, mind, and spirit. The landscape of Takoja is a gateway to natural medicines and creativity, working in unison to provoke new understandings of health and wellness. Takoja Institute is proud to offer a full conference waiver and a $150 stipend for those providing a workshop or scholarly talk. Workshops must be able to accommodate 20-30 guests, and will generally be given a 1-3 hour timeframe depending on workshop needs. Takoja currently has limited amenities to support workshops that require heavy machines or equipment (i.e., no kilns, woodshop, ect) however we do have basic power tools used for upkeep of the property and are open to wild ideas.
For more information, past workshops, or if you’re curious about attending the retreat as a guest, please visit our website at www.Takoja.org
