Professor Pyun in the department of history of art at Fashion Institute of Technology developed a website called the Bamboo Canvas (http://bamboocanvas.org). Pyun and her researchers developed a customized and interactive web pages so that users can gain crucial information about the diverse techniques of materials of East Asian art and design.

The conference, Beyond the Bamboo Canvas: Innovative Instruction for a Globalized Classroom would serve as a conclusion of this year-long research and development. In collaboration with the FIT Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET), Pyun and her team showcase their findings by inviting experts in VR/AR-assisted museum programs, instructional design, global education, and heritage preservation. To highlight an artisanal heritage featured throughout the research and the website, a master of Japanese shibori dyeing from Arimatsu (near Nagoya) is invited.
