77Art Artist Residency Program

Type: Residencies, Workshops, Exchanges [View all]
Posted by: 77Art
Deadline: Fri, March 1st, 2019

Applications are open for the 2019 season of artist residencies at 77Art!

After the immense success of our pilot program last year, 77Art is planning an expansion. In 2019 we will offer three sessions as well as expand the number of residents we can accommodate per session.

Twelve visual artists will participate in each section of this self-directed residency. The residency is designed to give emerging and mid-career artists time and space to create new works and expand their practice. Our private studios are spacious with large windows that provide ample natural light and their proximity allows for the right balance of privacy and community. There are no requirements that artists complete projects during their stay at 77Art, however the residency will culminate in an exhibition of resident work. It is important to connect artists to serious arts professionals in the state of Vermont and to this end we have organized studio visits from curators throughout the state. Our emphasis is on community outreach and artists should come prepared to interact with the public during open studios and be present at events throughout the residency period.
