The University of Oklahoma School of Visual Arts invites artists to submit works that engage the idea of “the vessel”. This exhibition seeks to highlight the captivating and compelling ways contemporary ceramic artists across the U.S. produce vessels today. Both functional and sculptural approaches to the theme are encouraged. Artists may engage other materials so long as the juror identifies that 70% of the work is made from ceramic material. Open to artists 18 yrs. & up.

The juror: Doug Casebeer is the newest Resident Artist at the OU School of Visual Arts and prior to arriving at OU, Doug was the Associate Director and Artistic Director for Ceramics at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center. He was also Chair of the Artist in Residency Program. He received his MFA in ceramics from Alfred University and his BFA from Wichita State University. Doug teaches, lectures, builds kilns and exhibits his artwork worldwide.

Exhibition dates: June 3 - July 11, 2019
