Flat-File Program: Call for Works on Paper

What is a flat-file program?
the Mast’s flat-file program is a curated cabinet of works on paper (drawings, paintings, photographs, and collages) that are available for purchase inside the gallery. The mission is to bring affordable artwork by southern artists to young or new collectors while giving artists a platform to sell their work. Majority of the profits will go to the artists because we believe in supporting your work. All prints are housed in flat-files in our climate-controlled room dedicated to the program.

 

How does it work?
Artists can submit three works to be considered by the directors. Submissions require an application of images and an image list detailing the titles and price. After being accepted, artists must sign a loan contract and deliver the work to the gallery to be a part of the program. The Mast will not cover shipping fees. The price cap for an individual print is $300 and the gallery will take a 20% of all works sold.

All works will be on temporary loan until August 1st. If the work is not sold by the end of the lease, the work will be returned to the artist.


Submission Requirements:
-Must reside in the following Southern states: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
- Work must lay flat and be constructed on paper (drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, collages).
- Work cannot be larger than 16”x20”

Submission Instructions:
Please submit the following via email to themastgallery@gmail.com by Friday, April 26th
1. 3 jpgs (max 1000px on one side at 72dpi) titled FirstNameLastName1
2. PDF with contact info (name, email, website, phone number) and image list (title, medium, price cap at $300)
3. Suggested Donation: $15 through Paypal themastgallery@gmail.com (if you have the money to donate for the call, please donate. If you don’t, don’t worry, we’ve got you.)

We will notify you of your submission by Monday, April 29th.
Your work must be delivered to the gallery between Monday, May 6th-Thursday, May 10th. The flat-file will be open to the public starting May 11th during our second exhibition reception.
