Uplift: Celebrating the Sierra Nevada

Type: Exhibition Opportunities [View all]
Posted by: Arts Benicia
Deadline: Sun, August 18th, 2019

Artists are invited to submit original paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, hand-pulled prints, digital art, textile art, fiber art, book and map art, sound art, music, installation, and video. Entries are open to visual artists internationally.

Uplift will celebrate a wide breadth of the Sierra Nevada’s legacy and influence. Artistic topics may include physical features such as Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Mammoth, Mono Lake and Devils Postpile; or relationship concepts such as its interface with Death Valley, the Gold Rush, and John Muir; or the art may delve deep into the Sierra Nevada’s social issues, climate and orography (rain shadow), recreation, land management, relevant specialized economies and historical trades, natural history, political issues, conservation, archeology, and geophysical sciences.

Apply through CaFE at: Uplift: Celebrating the Sierra Nevada application. Learn more about Arts Benicia at artsbenicia.org.
