The 9th annual COCAL Conference will be held in Quebec City, Quebec, August 13-15, 2010 at Université Laval. Accommodations will be available in student residences ($49 per night) and nearby hotels ($100 and up per night).

Proposed workshops include:
1. Distance learning and its expansion
2. Academic freedom and employment status
3. Work stabilization in postsecondary education
4. Salaries and social programs
5. Collective bargaining and new strategies
6. Unionization: progress and prospects
7. Recognition of adjunct faculty and the quality of education
8. Stretching tasks: supervision, parcelling out and research
9. Communicating to the public
10. Sustainable development and the environment
11. Sharing the load: diversity and minority groups
12. Mobilization
