The Fort Lewis College Art Gallery invites photographers to submit portfolios for our juried exhibition, “Compassion & the Camera.”

The exhibition will showcase a promising photographer bringing fresh life to the great tradition of humanitarian photography, as exemplified by Dorothea Lange and numerous others.

Entries will be juried by Margy Dudley, photographer & proprietor of Open Shutter Gallery, and Dr. Elizabeth Gand, FLC gallery director & former assistant curator of photography at SFMOMA.

The winner will receive $500 and a special exhibition at the Fort Lewis College Art Gallery with Eric Greitens, best-selling author, photographer, scholar, humanitarian, and Navy SEAL. The goal is to create a visual “dialogue” between the two sets of photographs.

Send 20 digital images on CD & the entry fee of $25 (check to “Fort Lewis College”) by 8/24 to:
