We are currently developing a free and open-source resource for art and design “foundations” via new media. Concepts presented in this Rhizome Commissioned and peer-reviewed project will be described in scenarios, with content geared towards beginners (intro level) including histories, cultures, and motivations at play in new media studio practices. We have identified an array of constructs + are seeking contributions in response to the following: internets, protocols; distribution systems/platforms; networking, wireless tech, hacking; command lines; interface; hypertext; code; light; color; pixels; vectors; modeling; sequence, remix, post; glitch, audio; I/O; circuits/sensors; basic mechanics; augmented/virtual objects and places; game spaces; tactical/intervention; scores/instruction; collaboration.
