 Focal Point

October 2, 2020 - November 13, 2020

Deadline to enter: August 14th, 2020

The Call for Entry:

The Foundry Art Centre in Saint Charles, Missouri is seeking submissions for “Focal Point,” a juried exhibition focusing on how photography can be pushed to its fullest potential. Submitted works do not have to be purely photography but can be mixed media; a photographic element must be present for the work to be considered.

Juror:

Robin Assner-Alvey is a practicing artist working with photography, video and installation. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut (2000) and her Master of Fine Arts from the Ohio State University (2002). Her work examines corporality and asks viewers to consider the experience of living in their own skin. Robin’s most recent solo exhibition was Embodied at the Bruce Gallery at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in January 2019.

Robin is also a Professor of Art in the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Art at Webster University in St. Louis, MO. She just completed her seventeenth year at Webster, where she teaches all levels of photography and video. In 2017, she received the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award and the William T. Kemper Award for Excellence in Teaching.
