RFP: Outdoor Patio Artwork

Ford + Shep is interested in commissioning three artists for an artwork opportunity in the recently renovated outdoor dining space at the restaurant. The opportunity is for a site-specific painted patio artwork. The project should reflect the aesthetics of the restaurant. The restaurant would like to see functional, patio-based artwork that encourages zones of conversation between patrons as they converge at the outdoor seating area. Selected artists will create a custom design for the patio that will last one year. Ford + Shep will be responsible for priming the space and will provide the paint. The artist is responsible for the design and installation. The selected artists will each receive an honorarium of $1,000.00 upon completion. To be eligible, artists must currently reside in eastern North Carolina.

The submission process is described below. Submissions are due October 15, 2020.

TENTATIVE TIMELINE 

 

October 15, 2020: Proposals due October 2020: Arts Panel reviews proposals and recommends finalists. Finalist orientation via teleconference. October/November 2020: Installation of outdoor patio artwork
