Posted by: Artlink Contemporary Gallery
Deadline: Thu, February 4th, 2021

Voices is an online juried exhibition open internationally to BIPOC artists whose focuses include personal perspectives on our current social crisis and/or empowerment of Black voices. The exhibition will be juried by DJ E-Clyps and Lyndy Bazile, and the selected work will be shown on our website coinciding with an in-person solo exhibition by DJ E-Clyps under the same title.

About the Jurors

DJ E-Clyps is a Documentary, Editorial, and Concert Photographer based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also is a Music DJ/Producer, and Recording artist. His love for capturing emotion and telling the story with the lens is what drives his passion, and shows in his work. His deeply powerful images have been featured in some of the most important publications in America, including Time Magazine, New York Magazine, Billboard, as well as named one of the ‘Voices of BLM’ by Adobe Lightroom: a spotlight on Black/POC creatives documenting the black lives matter protests.

Lyndy Bazile, the artist behind Afroplump, is a visual artist based in Fort Wayne, IN. Her work incorporates the female figure existing within natural spaces, the settings of which are visual recognitions of her Haitian background. As a multiracial woman of color who was born in Indiana, she uses her artwork to explore her Haitian ancestry in an attempt to better connect with her roots. Her work also celebrates larger body types, with an emphasis on feminine strength and reflection. Through her work she attempts to include and support the historically marginalized, by creating images that celebrate multiplicity and evoke pride in diverse identities.
