The Llhuros Project is commissioning a work from an art historian or curator who can conduct a path-breaking investigation of the late Norman Daly’s Civilization of Llhuros (1972). This discussion will take place, particularly within the context of 20th century art.  The resulting presentation will center on the relationship of “Llhuros” to the revolutionary art of the 1960s.

Widely considered to be the first installation in the genre of archaeological fiction, and featured in Anotionette LaFarge’s new book Sting in the Tale: Art, Hoax, and Provocation,  "Llhuros" has experienced a revival in the past five years with exhibitions in Montpelier, France and at the 2019 Istanbul Biennial, both conceived and directed by the renowned French curator and critic, Nicolas Bourriaud.

Submission deadline is December 31, 2021.
