Seeking Art Historian for Pioneering Study of “The Civilization of Llhuros”

Norman Daly Art has been established to support the legacy of artist Norman Daly (1911-2008). We are seeking a writer with a strong background in art history to author a book on Daly’s fictive creation, the "The Civilization of Llhuros."

This unprecedented multimedia art project was created in the second half of the 1960s and began its lengthy exhibition career in 1972. A thorough online presentation is available at:

https://civilizationofllhuros.org

We seek to support the work of an academic art historian who is interested in describing “Llhuros” both in its origins in the earlier artistic output of Norman Daly, and in its relationship to many of the major developments in the art of the 1960s.

Access to primary sources of documentation (the Norman Daly Papers at the Cornell University Archives) and to the objects themselves (in an art storage facility in Elmira, NY) will be made possible for the scholar.

This is a unique opportunity to make an essential contribution to the understanding of "The Civilization of Llhuros."

Job Description:
