The Painting Center, a non-profit, artist-run art gallery in Chelsea is looking for new members. There are 15-22 members of The Painting Center at one time. As members leave, new or returning members are admitted by a majority vote based on viewings of the artists’ work. The membership dues are $240 per month. As a new member, you can expect to have a two-person exhibition in the Main Gallery within 24 months of your membership initiation. You can expect to have a one-person exhibition in the Main Gallery within 48 months following your initiation. In addition to exhibition opportunities, all members are represented on the gallery website, receive administrative/marketing support, and in connection with exhibitions have opportunities to give artist talks and participate in curatorial projects, panel discussions and other educational events.
