The Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts announces its program for senior fellowships. Fellowships are for full-time research, and scholars are expected to reside in Washington; housing is provided, subject to availability. Applications will be considered for research in the history, theory, and criticism of the visual arts of any geographical area and of any period.  Senior fellowships are intended for those who have held the PhD for five years or more at the time of application, or who possess an equivalent record of professional accomplishment.

Award period: academic year 2018-2019; applications submitted online by: October 15, 2017. The fellowship is awarded without regard to age or nationality of applicants. Through its fellowship programs, CASVA also seeks a diverse pool of applicants in the visual arts and especially welcomes candidates from underrepresented backgrounds.
