Type: Residencies, Workshops, Exchanges [View all]
Posted by: MONTGOMERY COLLEGE
Deadline: Mon, August 6th, 2018

Immerse yourself! These one-week intensive workshops allow you to focus entirely on learning a new skill. Each workshop is led by a well-known professional in her or his field. This class is geared toward professionals and highly experienced amateurs.

Topic: Photolithography
Explore the exciting process of photolithography! This direct, user-friendly technique allows you to print photographic images from a lithographic stone. Each participant will produce multiple plates to create a color lithographic print. In addition to photolithography, we will also experiment with Pronto or Smart plates. Topics include: creating positives with a variety of techniques and media, the proper processing and chemical handling of plates and developers, registration techniques, and ink mixing and printing.

Instructor: Christopher Wallace
Christopher Wallace, a native of California’s San Joaquin Valley, is now based out of Cambridge, MA. He received his MFA in Printmaking from the University of North Texas and his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute. Previously he taught printmaking at the University of Houston, Glassell School of Art, and Museum of Fine Arts Houston. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
