CAA-Getty International Program: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign in to submit an application?

To begin the application process, you must first create a temporary CAA account number here; once you’ve done this, click the APPLY NOW button on this page.

What should I do if my CAA ID isn’t working?

Only an Individual CAA ID will allow you to sign in to submit an application, so make sure you have an individual ID and not an institutional ID.

Sometimes certain browsers create login issues. We strongly recommend the use of Google Chrome when submitting an application.

If you continue to experience problems, contact the CAA membership department.

Do I need to be a CAA member to apply?

You do not need to be a member to apply, but you must have a CAA account number. You will use this account number to sign in to the application portal as you will need to select your name in our records in the second step of the application. Create a temporary CAA account number here

Who has received this grant in the past?

You can find a list of past recipients by year on the CAA-Getty International Program page here.

How do I know if I am eligible based on where I live?

This grant is open to all international scholars except those in United States, Canada, Western Europe, Israel, and Australia.

Are letters of recommendation required?

Letters of recommendation will be requested by CAA if the application advances to the next round of review.

When will I hear back about my application?

Applicants will be notified of the status of their application by October 15.

Will I need to apply for a visa if I am selected for this program?

Accepted applicants will need to apply for a B-1 visa as soon as possible upon acceptance (or an ESTA if qualified). The program acceptance letter can serve as documentation for your visa application.
