EDWARDS MEMORIAL SUPPORT GRANTS
Established in 2014 by Mary D. Edwards, the Edwards Memorial Support Grants, in memory of Archibald Cason Edwards Sr. and Sarah Stanley Gordon Edwards, support registration fees and expenses related to participation in the CAA Annual Conference for women who are emerging scholars at either an advanced stage of pursuing a doctoral degree or who have received their PhD within two years prior to the submission of the application. Applicants are only invited to apply after nomination by their session chair. They must be presenting onsite or virtually at the upcoming CAA Annual Conference, and applications submitted by women presenting on topics pertaining to the art of ancient Greece and Rome, medieval Europe (400–1400) or Europe and North America (1400–1950) will be prioritized.
Application Requirements
Session chairs must nominate participants by submitting:
- A description of the session
- A few sentences detailing the applicant's contribution to the session
Once nominated, the applicant will be required to submit:/p>
- Conference paper abstract
- Abbreviated CV (two pages maximum)
- Letter of interest
- Letter from a dean, department chair, or dissertation advisor confirming current standing and progress in the art history PhD program or confirmation of completion of a doctoral program within the past two years.
If selected:
- Grantees must acknowledge the award in the first footnote if they publish papers on the topic presented at the conference that was supported by this grant.
- Examples of allowable expenses include those related to travel, childcare/eldercare, technology upgrades and subscriptions which directly facilitate participation in their CAA conference session (headphones, microphones, cameras, virtual conferencing subscriptions, bandwidth upgrades).

- Institutional Member IDs cannot be used to create a submission.
- Use Google Chrome as your browser to submit to avoid technical difficulties.
