The OU School of Visual Arts invites applications for three new graduate fellowships at the MFA and doctoral levels:  the SoVA MFA Fellowship, the SoVA Doctoral Fellowship in European Art, the SoVA Doctoral Fellowship.  The fellowships offer three years of support at $20,000/year, health care benefits, and a full tuition waiver.  Studio space is provided to MFA candidates.

 

The MFA program offers graduate study in the area of Art, Technology, and Culture, including Art and Technology, Film and Video, and Photography, and in Studio Art, including Painting, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Printmaking.   The PhD program offers degree tracks in Native American Art History, Art of the American West, European Art, and Critical Issues.  

 

The OU School of Visual Arts is the largest, most comprehensive art school in Oklahoma.  OU SoVA’s graduate program is unique in its emphasis on, and opportunities for, integrating the theory and practice of the visual arts. The school serves approximately 400 undergraduate and graduate students in art history, media, studio and visual communications, with a faculty of 28 full-time artists, designers, and scholars.  OU’s Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art is home to the Weitzenhoffer Collection of French Impressionist Art, the Eugene B. Adkins Collection of Art of the American Southwest and Native American Art, and the James T. Bialac Native American Art Collection, providing a world-class resource for research.

 

The University of Oklahoma (OU) is a Carnegie-R1 comprehensive public research university located in Norman, OK. The city of Norman is a culturally rich and vibrant town located just outside Oklahoma City.
