MIDWEST VIDEO POETRY FEST 2021
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
We are excited to announce that Midwest Video Poetry Fest is accepting submissions of video poetry for our 2021 festival!
This year Midwest Video Poetry Fest will be an in-person and live-streamed event in Madison, Wisconsin featuring video poems from artists over two evenings, October 8th and 9th. The deadline for submission is July 15th, 2021
We encourage video poem submissions from artists, filmmakers and writers from a diversity of styles and experiences. Our view of diversity includes, but is not limited to, work that represents people, lives and experiences that are not often represented or are underrepresented. That includes work that ranges from DIY low budget video poems to highly produced work. We encourage experimentation and expression that is unique and original, but also recognize that work that fits that description can come in the form of an adaptation of a poem that has been in the public domain for 20 or more years.
We are excited to feature work from artists from our local, national and international communities that fall into the following categories: Originals, Adaptations, Midwest’s Own, Translations, Student Work and Poetic Videos. The submission fee per work is $6 and $3 for students. The max time allowed for each submission is 7 minutes. We are proud to be able to give each work selected for the festival a $50 honorarium this year.
