ATTENTION CERAMIC ARTISTS:

  Rocky River Public Library and the Cowan Pottery Museum are looking for a speaker for our 2022 Cowan Symposium on April 9, 2022.     For over 30 years this all-day event has celebrated the legacy of the Cowan Pottery Studio and the creative ingenuity of our area. We are seeking an artist to share their work and discuss how they use glazes in their art practice. The selected artist will prepare and present an hour-long slide presentation that showcases their art practice and explains how they utilize the different properties of glaze in their work. This event will be presented in person as well as live streamed and will include time at the end for Q&A.     The selected artist will receive a $150 honorarium at the completion of the presentation. The artist will be selected by members of the RRPL staff and will be notified by February 11, 2022. This call is open to all artists 18 years and older who use clay as a medium.     Submission Deadline: January 31, 11:59 pm  

How to Submit: To be considered, please submit 5 jpeg examples of your work along with a short (250 words or less) artist statement to cowan@rrpl.org with the subject line "2022 Cowan Symposium". If you have any questions, please email cowan@rrpl.org.
