The Grunwald Gallery of Art invites submissions for an open call for artworks utilizing AI (artificial intelligence) to explore new processes and forms of creativity. Artworks should push the boundaries of what is possible in art, technically and conceptually.
This exhibit assumes an expansive view of art—some may be as much about science and computing as they are about aesthetics and experience. The goal is to showcase a variety of perspectives and unique strategies for augmenting creative practices that engage with data in unlikely and unpredictable ways.
All mediums will be considered, including evolving generative works, interactive installations and traditional art forms.
Eligibility:
Must be 18 years or older to apply. All mediums will be considered. Selected artwork must be ready to install by the time of installation. If submitting an installation piece, artist may be requested to be available for installation. The gallery reserves the right to refuse work that arrives incomplete (not ready for installation) or that is not representative of the work submitted in the proposal.

For consideration, please submit the following items on Slideroom no later than midnight EST on May 10, 2024. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
Submit up to 4 media items including images, video, audio, PDF, 3D models via Sketchfab or website links. Résumé or CV, as a PDF Project Abstract, as a PDF, Up to 500 Words, should address the following:
• Relevance to the theme
• Installation/Presentation Considerations and/or logistics
• Description of artwork including size and list of materials
Important dates:
May 10, 2024: Deadline for submissions
June 1, 2024: Notify artists via email
July 31, 2024: Artworks received by gallery
August 5–23, 2024: Installation
August 26–November 16, 2024: Exhibition dates
September 5, 2024: Opening reception
November 18–20, 2024: Deinstall/return artworks
