Many artists make work addressing the relationship between humans and nature without having the opportunity to “walk the talk.” This thematic residency pairs artists and writers who want to do hands-on rebuilding of Appalachia’s forests with a nature preserve whose mission is to do just that. “Artists” is used loosely here—whether you are a writer, cook, poet, or sound artist, if you a­re interested in the themes and willing to work you are encouraged to apply! Residents stay at a historic lodge at the Arc of Appalachia in Bainbridge, Ohio.
