You are about to embark on the next phase of life’s journey in the arts, design, writing, and either academia or life beyond. This can be a daunting and overwhelming time especially as the spring semester is going to fly by.

 

As you scroll through job listings, think about all of the other life demands that will happen next May, or are trying to find time in a hectic semester to document all of your work for that tenure application or your 2nd or 4th year review, take a moment to breath.

 

That feeling of calm can be nurtured in this bootcamp winter residency hosted and facilitated by someone who has been in your shoes. Not only is she a graphic designer with an MFA, she has been on the tenure track road, and also has worked with hundreds of students in the same situation you are in now with career planning aspects including skills assessment, critiques of work, assistance in discovering or honing in on your own creative voice, and other technical planning from website design to interviewing skills. This coaching style includes being a good listener who asks questions and can help critique your work in a different way than your current mentors, friends, or advisors/professors. 

 

Even if you have a portfolio class or a thesis seminar in the spring, 5x5 is up your alley. This bootcamp residency provides focus and a boost to tackle many of your initial plans before the semester becomes a whirlwind. If you can’t travel to Camp Wonder Wander this winter, there is a virtual coach option.

 

In person bootcamp residency options, either December 26-31 or January 2-7 tucked into the winter break as an escape from the routine or other possible distractions keeping you from the reboot you desperately need to have a great 2025 journey. Program fee includes the coaching sessions, lodging, meals, optional transport from/to airport, and of course access to the natural world and the donkeys.
