ATTENTION CERAMIC ARTISTS: 

Rocky River Public Library and the Cowan Pottery Museum are looking for work for their first year-long group exhibition, A New Century: Ceramics Inspired by the Legacy of Art Deco. 2025 marks the century anniversary of the. International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts which coined the term Art Deco. This call is open to contemporary ceramic works that are inspired by this historic period and its themes (geometric design, stylized forms, artistic and technological innovations, etc.). Work should be primarily ceramic material, produced within the last two years, and be able to fit in one of the provided cases:

 

1 Display Case-72” wide, 62” tall, and 19” deep with shelves 12” deep and upholstered backing. 6 Display Cases- 34″ wide, 54” tall, and 8.5” deep with shelves 8.5” deep and upholstered backing. 1 Vitrine- 59″ wide, 35” tall, and 35” deep.

The artist is responsible for the delivery/return of their work to and from Rocky River Public Library and all related expenses. This call is open to all artists 18 years and older.

Artwork may be listed for sale but must remain for the duration of the exhibition. The artist agrees to donate 10% of sales to the Friends of Rocky River Public Library. All sales must be handled by the artist and take place outside of the Library.   *How to Submit: Artists can submit up to five works to cowan@rrpl.org with the subject line “Cowan Open Call”. Photographs of the work should be in .jpeg format, with the following scheme: LastName_FirstName_TitleofWork_DimensionsInInches_DateofWork.jpeg.
