Exploring Ancient Art: Sensory and Emotional Connections

You are invited to contribute to a special issue of Ars Longa, a peer reviewed, open access journal from the University of Valencia, Spain. The aim of this issue is to compile current researchthat explores the intersection between ancient works of art and the sensory and emotional responses elicited by the interaction between artworks, architecture and people. We will invite contributions from scholars working in different areas of the ancient world, such as ancient Mediterranean, pre-Columbian Americas, Africa, and Western and Central Asia. Ars Longa is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal that accepts contributions in English, Spanish or Valencian, as long as title, abstracts and keywords in both English and Spanish are included. The maximum length of the papers is 25 pages (50.000 characters, including bibliography and appendixes) and 10 illustrations. They should be typed in Word format, double line spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font, with approximately 25 lines or 2,000 characters (with spaces) per page. Deadline to submit the papers: the 1st of March 2025 for publication in October 2025. For more information regarding the journal and the publication guidelines see:  https://turia.uv.es/index.php/arslonga/about/submissions.
