Type: Residencies, Workshops, Exchanges [View all]
Posted by: Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA)
Deadline: Mon, March 31st, 2025
Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) is thrilled to announce the first open call for its Artist-in-Residence program, inviting women and non-binary photographers from around the world to apply.
Established in 2020, this transformative month-long residency offers emerging and mid-career artists working with lens-based media the opportunity to develop their creative practice within Miami’s vibrant cultural landscape. The residency will take place in September 2025, hosted in partnership with El Espacio 23, a premier contemporary art space founded by collector and philanthropist Jorge M. Pérez. Through an international open call, two artists will be selected by a jury composed of WOPHA leadership and industry experts. As part of the 2025 cycle, WOPHA is proud to partner with La Station Culturelle to recognize and support an artist from the French Caribbean. Applicants to the WOPHA x La Station Culturelle residency program will be evaluated under the same criteria as all other applicants, with no separate application required.
The WOPHA Artist-in-Residence program has been a vital platform for supporting women and non-binary artists working with photography. It provides dedicated time, space, and resources for artists to explore new ideas, expand their research, and engage with the community, fostering meaningful connections with Miami’s dynamic artistic community. The residency includes a group exhibition showcasing the artists’ work in Green Space Miami.
