Tiger Strikes Asteroid - Greenville is accepting applications from Southeast-based artists across all visual art disciplines for a 4-week artist residency, followed by a 1-week open-ended presentation to be held this summer at our new gallery space located within The Lofts of Greenville at 201 Smythe St, in Greenville, SC. Designed to foster local artistic exploration and community engagement, the residency offers a unique opportunity for early and mid-career creatives that are looking for a site to activate with a concept or project. We are particularly interested in expanded and non-traditional approaches to practice and process, encouraging experimental projects that may not otherwise be realized.

The residency is from June 21 - July 18, 2025. There is a 1-week culminating presentation/exhibition: July 19-26, 2025. It includes 3-5 studio visits with regional artists and curators, and $1000 in the form of reimbursement for costs and expenses related to the residency.

NOTE: This residency does not include housing or lodging. The selected artist(s) will be responsible for finding accommodations. Though we will certainly consider artists from beyond our region, please be mindful that this residency does not offer housing or accommodations, and may be most ideal for individuals living in proximity to our gallery location. We’ll work closely with the selected artist(s) to ensure the success of the residency and final presentation.

Applications are free and are due by April 15, 2025. Our application asks for (1) basic information: name, contacts, socials, demographics, two references, (2) project proposal outlining intent and goals, (3) 5-10 images of work samples, and (4) brief budget outlining how $1000 may be spent.
