Our mission: The Contemporary Dayton advances equity, diversity, and access through the presentation of contemporary art and ideas. We champion emerging, mid-career, and historically underrepresented artists—especially those addressing urgent social issues—while ensuring that all exhibitions, programs, and resources are free and open to the public. By pairing original exhibitions with critical scholarship, artist talks, educational initiatives, and an extensive digital archive, The Contemporary Dayton amplifies artists’ voices, fosters inclusive dialogue, and connects Ohio to the national and global arts landscape.

 

In Small Measure is our new fundraising exhibition where we ask participants to create a postcard sized (4 x 6 inches) work of art, donate it to us, and in exchange, it will be included in an exhibition on February 13-14, 2026 at The Contemporary Dayton, Dayton, Ohio’s contemporary art center. 

Your donated artwork means more this year during a challenging time for arts organizations and small nonprofits. With your support, we aim to raise $10,000 to help sustain The Contemporary Dayton’s mission. All artworks will be sold anonymously for $100 and all funds raised go to support The Contemporary Dayton.

In Small Measure Live Sale Event
Friday, February 13, 2026, 7-9 pm
Tickets: $35 per person 

Preview Party, 5:30-7 pm
Tickets: $135 per duo
Preview party ticket holders get first dibs to purchase artworks.

All participating artists will receive two complimentary tickets to the In Small Measure Live Sale Event. If artists wish to attend the preview Party, they may purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $50 per person.
