Appalachian Forest Stewardship Residency - application now open!

Be a part of the Appalachian Forest Stewardship Residency in its sixth year. Running from October 10-October 18, 2026, this short residency allows for reflection time and active time as you help restore Ohio’s forests. Individuals or small groups are encouraged to apply with projects that address concepts around the relationship between humans and nature. There are no studio spaces per se, but artists working in all media are encouraged to apply. Artists have used the time for reflection, ideation, sketching, hiking, and doing temporary outdoor installations.

Artists will spend 12-16 hours learning about forest stewardship-removing invasive species, doing trailwork, etc. This low cost residency includes lodging at Ravenwood Retreat Center located 1.5 hours from Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
